The Bridge in Chertsey
has a plushness that just
asks to be sunk into.
Sunday is roast day, and we can’t
get enough of either.
Warm up in a winter wonderland.
Hello. Here’s
what’s in store
in issue four.
As we write, Autumn’s upon us and winter is a
chilly prospect not far away. But we’re not ones
to get down when the seasons change. In fact,
our pubs come into their cosy own when the
temperature starts to head south. So, this issue’s
packed with reasons to be cheery when the
weather’s more dreary.
We think a pub Sunday is the most marvellous thing
in wintertime, and our love letter to Sundays on
page 10 should warm your heart (and your cockles).
And while we’re talking snug pubs, it’s no secret that
dogs love them just as much as us. Read about the
special gift we have for our four-legged friends on
page 5. And whatever you do, don’t skip the news
of some specially wrapped packages for festive stays
on page 19.
This is also a time of year for reminiscing, so we
decided to dig into our archives and honour our
long, long heritage. If you’d like to know a tiny bit
about our past, we’ve written a quick-昀椀re summary
of our origins and how we’ve changed and grown.
That’s not the lot, there’s more besides. And we
hope you enjoy the read.
Charity shout out
Before you jump in, we couldn’t wait to tell
you we’ve raised over £200,000 this year for
the Wooden Spoon, a children’s charity who
fund projects to support vulnerable children
and young people across the UK & Ireland.
And we have to thank our incredible staff,
customers and guests for donating, fundraising
and giving their time.
Here’s where the money went:

£35k to School of Hard Knocks
£35k to Maddy’s Mark
