Self-raising
power
We’re thrilled to announce that
last year we raised an incredible
£200,000 for our charity partner,
Wooden Spoon. A huge thank
you to our teams and customers
who helped make it happen.
The Wooden Spoon charity harnesses the power
of rugby to fund projects focused on improving the
lives of kids and young people in the UK and Ireland.
Each of our pubs team spent September and
October raising money for this wildly worthy cause.
Here are just a handful of their fantastic initiatives.
The Dog & Fox in Wimbledon hosted a ‘Scrum
Dine with Young’s’ dinner and raised an epic £37k
through ticket and raf昀氀e sales and an auction. For
the Rugby World Cup, we created a special new
ale called Young’s Drop Gold and donated money
for every pint sold. We produced limited edition
t-shirts by Nick Dwyer (Beavertown Brewery’s
designer), with all pro昀椀ts going to the charity.
We did cycle rides from Cheltenham to London,
stopping at our pubs along the way. We went
digital with our Christmas cards, meaning we
could donate the normal printing cost.
We’re so proud of everyone’s efforts and the huge
impact the money raised will have. Teamwork makes
the dream work.
