Oliver has been a lovely addition to the DEP team
by coming to workshops and co-designs. We first
met Ollie at the 2022 DEP Self-Advocacy Training
for Young People. He stood out with his assertive
communication and his ability to hold space for
others. Ollie recognises the strength in shared
voices, which is a crucial aspect of disability
advocacy.
In 2023, Ollie’s advocacy efforts were
acknowledged with a Philanthropy award for
uplifting others at his school and in the community.
He chose to donate his prize money to Camp
Freedom, benefiting children aged 7-17 living with
Juvenile Arthritis-related conditions. He was also a
finalist for Young Leader of the Year in the Next
Gen Awards 2023.
