A Remarkable Healing in South Asia
sparked hope within Ria and she
ultimately put her trust in Christ and
was baptized.
Not long after her baptism, Ria’s
health took a turn for the better! All of
the symptoms she’d suffered from for
so long faded away. Ria credits her
healing to God.
Today, Ria serves as a member of the
Bible translation team in her area,
where she is helping to translate God’s
Word into the language closest to her
heart. Ria is eager for others in her
community to encounter the
gospel message.
“The thought of having the … New
Testament [in her language] gives her
new zeal and excitement,” a colleague
said. “Now she looks forward to the
[upcoming] workshop and translating
the New Testament. She is blessed
holistically through this project.”
God is demonstrating His lifechanging love all around the earth, as
He works through Bible translation to
touch lives with Scripture in the
languages people understand best.
Recently, God moved powerfully in the
life of a woman named Ria in
South Asia.
Ria was in great physical pain and
wanted to find relief. For years she

suffered from three distinct ailments.
Her symptoms took their toll on her,
and no matter what she did, her pain
continued. She decided to fast for a
week in the hopes of receiving healing
from the deities that she served, but
nothing happened.
In the midst of her suffering, Ria met
a pastor who shared the gospel
message with her. This Good News
The Bible translation work in
Ria’s area is a part of the
Aalay Cluster project where
12 language communities are
working together to translate God’s
Word into each of their languages. You
