In Ukraine we administered
The UCLA Child Trauma Screen to
asks parents to report on their
child’s behavior across the
following domains:

• Trouble feeling happy
• Staying away from people
• Trouble sleeping
• Hard to concentrate
There was a 52% improvement in
child behaviors, with the biggest
shi昀琀 in children feeling less strong
feelings in their body and be琀琀er
able to concentrate.
Using the Developmental Pro昀椀le-3 to assess development
and func琀椀oning in development, children in Bulgaria
showed a marked improvement in children’s socialemo琀椀onal skills and emergent numeracy and literacy.
WWO Hai琀椀 distributed 650 emergency aid kits that
included food, water tablets and hygiene items, bene昀椀琀椀ng
more than 2,500 children and adults.
In Ethiopia, WWO uses the
Interna琀椀onal Development
and Early Learning Assessment
(IDELA) to understand the skills
children are learning and their
school readiness by the 琀椀me
they leave kindergarten to enter
1st grade. Over the 2023 – 2024
school year, we saw that:
• The biggest gains from children
accessing Element of Play® in
preschool are in early numeracy,
early literacy, and execu琀椀ve
func琀椀on skills.
• Students with access to
Element of Play® show a 20-30%
increase in school readiness
over and above their peers who
are in preschool and not
currently accessing WWO’s
program.
At WWO’s Camp Colors of Love (Vietnam), 88%
of campers increased their social connec琀椀on to
overcome their self-s琀椀gma.
