CAMP EXPERIENCESIn partnership with SeriousFun Children’sNetwork (SeriousFun), WWO providescamp experiences for children livingwith serious illness and their families inEthiopia, Hai琀椀, and Vietnam. Children livingwith illnesses face di昀케cult emo琀椀onal and social challenges, including higher rates ofanxiety and depression. They must learn life skills to help manage their illness, stayas healthy as possible, and cope with future obstacles that may arise.We provide opportuni琀椀es for children to access residen琀椀al camp (4-5 days away from home), day camp andfamily weekend ac琀椀vi琀椀es that provide deep and meaningful impact, increased knowledge, and create strongand las琀椀ng bonds with peers who face similar struggles.A recent evalua琀椀on, in partnership with SeriousFun and the Graduate School of Public Health at San Diego StateUniversity, exploring residen琀椀al camp outcomes in Ethiopia and Vietnam found that campers build stronger peer and familyrela琀椀onships, take their medica琀椀on correctly and consistently (improved adherence) and show an increase in posi琀椀ve healthand hygiene behaviors.“In partnership with WWO, we are proud to be crea琀椀ng camp and recrea琀椀onal experiences that not onlyfoster resilience and nurture hope, but support healing across borders and boundaries.
