Community Connections
Eviction Prevention
In 2023, a new partnership with the Social Development Centre meant
we could welcome an eviction prevention peer worker to our Main
Library. Eviction Prevention Peer Workers support tenants through
advocacy, intervention, mediation, negotiation and developing
alternative plans to loss of housing. They provide holistic support for
community members facing eviction or having ongoing issues or con昀氀icts
with their landlords.
WOW Waterloo
WPL partnered with the City of Waterloo on WOW, a Seniors’ Centre
Without Walls leisure program that brings social, recreational and
educational programs to seniors.
