Let’s Celebrate
Everyone Is Invited
In 2023, it was time to celebrate at WPL with a wide range of
events that brought hundreds of customers to the library for learning
and fun. In collaboration with our community partners, we hosted
culturally signi昀椀cant celebrations like Lunar New Year, Caribbean
Carnival, Eid and Deepavali. Attendees enjoyed music, dancing,
treats and more while learning about traditions celebrated in
Waterloo Region and around the world.
McCormick Branch Turns 50
The McCormick Branch celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023! We
marked this special occasion with a party for the whole community
in January 2024. Attendees enjoyed live music, crafts, activities,
giveaways, treats and free ice skating.
When it opened in 1973, the idea of combining a library and
recreation space was an innovative new idea. Now all of our
branches are co-located with active-living facilities.
