The Vermont Production Collective (VPC) presents: A STAGED READING
OF NEW VERMONT BASED SCREENPLAYS
VPC invites you to a Staged Reading of selected scenes from new works
for film, developed over the last nine months in the Vermont Screenplay
Incubator by 5 local screenwriters. The stories, while all set in Vermont,
will transport us back in time, from a deep dive into how federal decisions
affected a rural VT farmer in the 1960s, to what was really on the mind of
teenagers in the 1980s.
Other stories explore what actions an ever-changing physical appearance
may drive someone to take, why another may choose a quiet life in the
Green Mountains, and even give us answers as to how the Vatican’s
powers could reach Barre. A cohort of local actors will bring the scenes
to life and provide you with a look into the filmmaking process for
narrative fiction films. Join us to determine who wins the ‘audience
award’ sponsored by FastLights and Vermont Magazine, which will help
support production of the winning film.
The award will be announced at the 5:30pm Filmmakers’
Reception on Saturday, sponsored by VPC and the Québec
Delegation in Boston
