Sandwiched between the sea and the
Norfolk Broads nine miles north of Great
Yarmouth, is the attractive ancient 昀椀shing
village of Winterton-On-Sea.
With traditional brick and 昀氀int cottages,
quirky little shops, tearooms and a 300-yearold pub, the Fishermans Return.
Winterton Dunes is a designated Site of
Special Scienti昀椀c Interest and a National
Nature Reserve of 109 hectares,
home to rare 昀氀ora and fauna, including rare
little terns that nest on the beach.
You’ll often see seals popping up their heads
in the sea or venturing on to the beach. In the
winter breeding season, seals and their pups
can be viewed from afar.
