With over 900-acres of Scenic Wetlands, Cattail Marsh boasts over
283 species of fowl, 8 miles of levees, a boardwalk, and the Cattail
Marsh Wetlands Education Center.

This slightly elevated beach ridge with many winding trails, allows
oak trees to grow along the coast, attracting migrants in droves.

ecosystems from long leaf pine forests to cypress rimmed bayous,
resulting in a biological crossroads and some of the greatest
diversity in North America.

A sprawling 34,000-acre wildlife refuge is home to hundreds of
thousands of birds. The coastal marsh and prairie habitat is a

A spectacular birding location in the spring when migrants come
pouring across the Gulf. Sightings and numbers are highest during
fallout when fast-moving cold fronts come through. Be sure to keep

A combination of salt marsh, mudflats, and beach, the Bolivar
Flats, produce the most consistent phenomenal birding with
concentrations of species resting and nesting year-round.

Share Pleasure Island with shorebirds, ducks, gulls, and terns. This
man-made island is good for a day of fun while adventuring through
the hills, bluffs, and vistas of Sabine Lake and Neches River.
