Our mission is to empower all of our students to
be successful and responsible in a nurturing and
diverse learning community, so that they can
achieve their full potential in a changing world.
In harmony with the ideals of the IB Learner
Profile, and the spirit of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights, we aim for
students to be inquiring, inspired, and
involved lifelong learners.
Our education for sustainable development
goal at the Vienna International School aims
to support our students in their journeys to
become responsible global citizens that adapt
their lifestyles and way of thinking towards a
sustainable lifestyle.

Eco School International
The VIS community is committed to creating
awareness of the need for a sustainable
environment and to leave a green print on our
planet. Being an Eco School International helps
our students to understand the important
aspects of sustainability on a global scale,
making them global citizens and future
ambassadors that share their commitment
towards a truly sustainable world.
The VIS is proudly the first Eco School
International in Austria and through their
“Building Eco Bridges” project wants to
invite other schools to join efforts towards a
sustainable planet.
