Austria.
Austria is a fantastic place for teachers to travel within and
from. To quote the Lonely Planet Guide: ÒViennaÕs jewel-box
palaces and Mozart melodies, sparkling Alps and problems
like Maria naturally still have their place in AustriaÕs heart. Ò
But venture further for experiences that defy expectations:
from slinging on a backpack, to stride through the
TennengebirgeÕs lunar landscape, to bathing in
SalzkammergutÕs tingly lakes. Visit historic spa towns like Bad
Ischl or discover cities such as Linz, where a newfound street
credibility is adding a twist to AustriaÕs tale.
ViennaÕs enchanting Habsburg palaces and SalzburgÕs
baroque splendour are worthy, but dig deeper and youÕll
unearth Stone Age settlements, Roman archaeological sites
at Carnuntum and medieval festivals.
