Environment
We are committed to the responsible use and management
of natural resources.
Geospatial Measurement of Air Pollution (GMAP)
vans equipped with Duvas DV3000 instruments
are used to tour most of our re昀椀neries' fenceline
communities and allow for early response and
mitigation actions even on small emissions sources.
At Valero, we understand the importance of
protecting the natural environment, not just in the
future, but right now. As such, we are focused on
maintaining our operations in an environmentally
responsible manner; investing in low-carbon
fuels production and renewable energy projects
that contribute toward reducing company-wide
GHG emissions; and participating in ecological
and conservation projects. We have made

multibillion-dollar capital investments to sustain
our operations as part of our commitment to safety,
reliability, preventive equipment maintenance
and environmental responsible operations for our
re昀椀neries. Although we have formal processes
and environmental monitoring systems designed
to protect our people, our communities and the
environment, we initiate mitigation actions as soon as
we identify an environmental event.
