DAY 2 8 7
Freedom from Sin’s Control
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and
more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how
can we continue to live in it? . . . For we died and were buried with Christ by
baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power
of the Father, now we also may live new lives. ROMANS 6:1-2, 4
Love Letter from God
Beloved Daughter,
I give you new life. But I also give you the freedom to live any way you choose.
My heart’s desire is that you would choose to live your life My way. I have
given you a royal inheritance, and I want you to live and act like a daughter
of the King. Never settle for a sinful, second-best life. I offer you power over
anything that tries to control you. I am one prayer away, and I will always provide a way for you to escape the snare of temptation. You don’t have to live as
a prisoner; you have been set free! Choose to walk with Me in that freedom.
Love,
Your heavenly Father
Reflection
Many of us have taken our freedom and misused it by doing things that aren’t
good for us. In the end, this just makes us slaves of the sins we choose. We
are guilty of taking God’s grace for granted. We really need to make healthy
choices, including living in the ways that we know please God. God offers to
give us true spiritual nourishment and the kind of freedom we really need.
Treasure of Truth
What good is freedom if it’s not used to experience a transformed life?
