advice,
but the tongue that deceives will be
cut off.
32
The lips of the godly speak helpful words,
but the mouth of the wicked speaks
perverse words.
11
The Lord detests the use of dishonest
scales,
but he delights in accurate weights.

Pride leads to disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.

Honesty guides good people;
dishonesty destroys treacherous people.

Riches won’t help on the day of judgment,
but right living can save you from death.

the wicked fall beneath their load of sin.

with them,
for they rely on their own feeble strength.
8
The godly are rescued from trouble,
and it falls on the wicked instead.

With their words, the godless destroy
their friends,
but knowledge will rescue the righteous.
• Honesty & Integrity
PR OV E R B S 11:1
If we cheat while loving a God who hates
cheating, we will create war in our soul.
If we go a step further and cheat the
very God who hates cheating, that war
will intensify and disturb the peace we
normally have in knowing God. Someone
who cheats is either a dishonest person
who admits it and who takes pride in
deceit, or a fraud who speaks the truth
while acting deceptively. Neither kind of
person can be trusted. We put ourselves
at risk when we become involved with
those who cheat. Let God delight in
you because of your commitment to
honesty.
