Witnessing continued
• J O H N 9 :2 5 | “I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man replied. “But I know this:
I was blind, and now I can see!”
Simply tell others how God has rescued you and freed you from the burden of sin.
• PSA L M 2 8 :6 | Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy.
Tell others about the prayers God has answered.
• PSA L M 3 0 :3 | You brought me up from the grave, O Lord. You kept me from falling into
the pit of death.
• E PH E S I A NS 2 :5 | That even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when
he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)
Explain how God has saved you from spiritual death.
• 1 J O H N 1 :2 | And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life.
Tell others the terrific news that anyone can have the gift of eternal life in a perfect world.
It’s not too good to be true.
• A C T S 4 :3 3 | The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and
God’s great blessing was upon them all.
Tell others about the resurrection of Jesus, because this is the basis for our hope in
eternal life.

• A C T S 1 0 :4 2 | “And he ordered us to preach everywhere and to testify that Jesus is the one
appointed by God to be the judge of all—the living and the dead.”
Warn others about God’s ultimate judgment ahead. Eventually there will only be two sides.
It’s important to be on God’s side.

Explain the message of repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation with God.
• R O MA NS 1 0 :9 | If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
• 1 J O H N 1 :9 | But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
Make clear the need to confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe in his resurrection.
• 1 T H E S S A L O NI A NS 1 :5 | And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when
we were with you.
• 1 T I MOT H Y 4 :1 2 | Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example
to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.
How you live is an important element of your witness for Jesus. Make sure your actions
match your words.
What do I do when people aren’t interested in hearing about Jesus?
• 1 P E T E R 2 :1 2 | They will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God
when he judges the world. (See note on page 1130.)
Our actions are, in themselves, a testimony to the world.
• MAT T H E W 9 :1 1 | They asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with such scum?”
Believers must build genuine relationships—as Jesus did—in order to have the opportunity
to minister to the lost.
