assembling and you purposefully don’t follow the instruction manual, what you assemble
will not work properly. It’s the same with life. If you follow God’s instruction manual, the
Bible, God promises life will work much better, and you will also be guided to a perfect
eternal future.
There seem to be so many gray areas when it comes to right and wrong. How
can I tell what is absolutely right?
• PSA L M 1 1 9 :8 9 , 9 3 | Your eternal word, O Lord, stands firm. . . . I will never forget your
commandments, for by them you give me life.
• J O H N 1 4 :1 5 | [Jesus said,] “If you love me, obey my commandments.”
• 2 T I MOT H Y 3 :1 6 | All Scripture is inspired by God.
God has given us his Word, the Bible, which clearly tells you all things that are absolutely
right and absolutely wrong.
• J O H N 1 4 :1 7 | “He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.”
• J O H N 1 5 :2 6 | “But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you
from the Father and will testify all about me.”
God has given us the Holy Spirit to help us live obediently and to teach us how to understand and apply the truths of God’s Word. He will alert you when your old sinful nature is
trying to take over and distort the truth.
T
• R O MA NS 8 :5 | Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but
those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
• E X O DU S 2 0 :1 -1 7 | Then God gave the people all these instructions: . . . “You must not
have any other god but me. You must not . . . You must not . . .”
God gave us the Ten Commandments. They are absolute truths that apply to all people in
all cultures for all time. Obeying these commandments will point your life in the right direction, make your life more fulfilling and satisfying, save you from much harm, and keep your
focus on the only God who can grant you eternal life.
• PSA L M 1 4 7 :5 | How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond
comprehension!
• H E B R E W S 1 3 :8 | Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
• NU MB E R S 2 3 :1 9 | “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not
change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not
carried it through?”
• 1 C H R O NI C L E S 1 6 :3 4 | Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures
forever.
God’s character is unchanging. He is constantly all-powerful, absolutely good, the originator of truth, all-wise, always faithful, and loves us unconditionally.
• J O H N 1 4 :6 | Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the
Father except through me.”
• A C T S 1 6 :3 1 | They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with
everyone in your household.”
• R O MA NS 6 :2 3 | For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through
Christ Jesus our Lord.
There is only one way for a person to enjoy eternal life in heaven. Salvation is a gift from
God, available to us through faith in Jesus Christ.
• A C T S 1 3 :3 8 -3 9 | “Brothers, listen! We are here to proclaim that through this man Jesus
there is forgiveness for your sins. Everyone who believes in him is made right in God’s
sight—something the law of Moses could never do.”
• 1 J O H N 1 :9 | But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins
and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
