Obey God’s Word, which will motivate you to truly want to help others, even when it’s not
convenient.

Honor God by making your relationship with him your first priority; then you will want to
do what he asks.

Discover your spiritual gifts and enthusiastically invest them in the ministry of the church.

Demonstrate love and kindness to all people, especially those in need. Regardless of the
level of your gifts and abilities, invest yourself boldly into the lives of others.

Serve with enthusiasm. Your attitude will not only energize you but also rub off on others.
Where do I get the desire to care for others?
God instilled a sense of caring for his Creation in the first person on earth. Caring began
in Eden and has been an essential part of humanity ever since. A caring spirit comes from
the heart of God.

over it.

way as you traveled through the wilderness, just as a father cares for his child.’
You are responsible to care for your family.

just as God through Christ has forgiven you.
You are responsible to care about your relationships.

hear about him unless someone tells them?
You are responsible to care about the salvation of those who don’t know Jesus.

You are responsible to care about your work. Caring about your work brings about
excellence and sets an example to others of a job well done.

for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
You are responsible to care about those in need who are less fortunate than you.
What does it mean to be a servant-leader?
• J O H N 1 3 :4 -5 , 1 4 -1 5 | So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel
around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet,
drying them with the towel he had around him. “. . . And since I, your Lord and Teacher,
have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to
follow. Do as I have done to you.”
