• PSA L M 2 3 :1 -3 | The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green
meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me
along right paths, bringing honor to his name.
• J E R E MI A H 3 1 :2 5 | “For I have given rest to the weary and joy to the sorrowing.”
God provides times of rest. Rest renews you mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, thus giving you more energy for the work ahead. Rest is not only a necessity but also
a gift from God you can gladly accept.
What gives me spiritual rest?
• PSA L M 9 1 :1 | Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of
the Almighty.
• MAT T H E W 1 1 :2 8 -2 9 | Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry
heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because
I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
When you visit friends far away and spend the night with them, they’ve prepared a room
for you to make you comfortable and help you rest. God does the same for you. When
you come into his presence he has prepared a place where you can feel safe and rest.
At his place, in his presence, the burdens of the world are put into perspective and cares
melt away. When you need to be refreshed spiritually, go to the creator of rest and linger
there.
