Peace comes from knowing God is in control of your life. Focus your thoughts on God and
what he is able to accomplish in your life rather than on your problems.
• PSA L M 3 7 :1 1 | The lowly will possess the land and will live in peace and prosperity.
Humility before God brings peace because God blesses the humble. Those who are
humble understand their place in relationship to God and others. Humility gives you a
realistic view of yourself, balanced by the knowledge of how much God loves you.

Loving God’s Word will give you peace with the God who wrote it.

Let the Holy Spirit fill and rule your life. The Holy Spirit will guide, teach, and comfort you.
If you follow, learn, and listen, you will experience peace with God.

me with songs of victory.
Peace comes from knowing that God is always watching over you day and night. This doesn’t
mean that your body will never be harmed, but it does mean that God will never let Satan
snatch you away from him. You can have absolute confidence that you will be his forever.
How can I make peace with others?
• J E R E MI A H 2 9 :7 | “And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you
into exile.”
• MAT T H E W 5 :9 | “God blesses those who work for peace.”
• I SA I A H 4 3 :2 | When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. (See note on page 641.)
Peace is not always the absence of conflict. God calls us to pursue peace, which involves
hard work.
• 2 C O R I NT H I A NS 1 3 :1 1 | Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony
and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you.
Working hard at ridding sin from our own lives while diligently building others up helps
achieve peace.
• E PH E SI A NS 4 :3 | Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding
yourselves together with peace.
Work toward unity with others that comes only from the Holy Spirit.
• R O MA NS 1 2 :1 7 -1 8 | Never pay back evil with more evil. . . . Do all that you can to live
in peace with everyone.
If you harbor feelings of revenge in your heart, you cannot be at peace with others.
Bitterness and revenge can never bring peacefulness.
• J A ME S 3 :1 7 | The wisdom from above . . . is also peace loving, gentle at all times,
and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows
no favoritism and is always sincere.
Commit yourself to the good deeds that are the mark of a true peacemaker.
Is there any hope for world peace?
