across the Roman Empire to the churches that the apostle Paul had started.
Matthew had a royal message for anyone willing to listen. The King, the Messiah, had
come, and Matthew was writing the Messiah’s story—from his birth in Bethlehem to his
death and resurrection, and beyond.
