death, along with occasional internal strife.
Persecution served as a catalyst for
spreading the Good News of Jesus. Not only
did it cause believers to depend radically
on the Lord, but it also forced many to flee,
leading them to take the message to places
like Samaria and Ethiopia.
The Good News spread even further
when God intervened in the life of Saul of
Tarsus, who considered belief in Jesus a
dangerous threat to the Jewish people. As he
was on the way to Damascus to arrest believers, the risen Messiah confronted Saul (also
known as Paul), and he became one of Jesus’
most fervent followers.
