CHIGGERS and BED BUGS CONTINUED
We take extreme preventative measures such as bed bug encasement covers for all mattresses and box
springs, bed bug repellent usage on a regular basis, and professional pest control visits. Our cabins have
never had an incidence of bed bugs. However, knowing the difference is important in treatment.
Chiggers are very small and typically can't be seen with the naked eye. Bed bugs are larger and can be seen
on linens if present. Both cause redness and itching. At first glance, they look alike, but when looked at
closely there are significant differences.
Chigger bites are small and look like pimples, clustered, and located primarily on the feet, ankles, legs, and
groin. Bed bug bites are larger, look more like welts, and are located mostly on the arms, legs, and chest. If
you believe you have chiggers or bed bugs please contact us immediately.
