Troubleshooting Guide
If you are experiencing a power outage at the cabin, please try to determine if it
is affecting the entire area which is almost always the case, especially in bad
weather. For example, can you see any lights at neighboring cabins, or hear any
air conditioning units running? If any of the neighboring cabins are also without
power, please call, Choctaw Electric at 800-780-6486 to report the outage. They
will be the ones to respond and correct the situation. You will need to give them
your property address including the town or city. We apologize for any
inconveniences; however, refunds will not be issued for utility outages that are
beyond our control.
If you have determined that your problem is not a local power outage, then
check the electric breakers/fuse panels. This may immediately solve your
problem. Electric panels are often hard to find; they may be hidden behind
pictures on the walls, in closets, in the washer/dryer areas, or in a storage room.
When you locate the electric panel, try to locate the individual breaker (or
breakers) that are marked for the part of the house or appliance that is without
