This course is for those seeking to qualify for the Class A CDL Skills test. The curriculum prepares students
to meet Theory and Behind the Wheel Vehicle training per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
(FMCSA) Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements. The curriculum is 192 hours in length and consists of
three parts. The 昀椀rst part is 80 hours of Classroom, lab, and Learning Management System (LMS) instruction.
Completion of this part leads to the ELDT Theory certi昀椀cation and Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). The
second part is 110 hours of Behind the Wheel (BTW) vehicle instruction to prepare the student for FMCSA
Range and Public Road ELDT pro昀椀ciency requirements for the Class A CDL skills test (road test). The 昀椀nal
portion of the program is allotted for 2 hours to complete the state Skills Test (road test). Preparation and
scheduling for the CDL Skills test on a manual transmission vehicle is included. Cost of the license upgrade
from Class D to Class A is not included.
Traditional college 昀椀nancial aid is not applicable for non-credit courses at this time.
Participants must complete the DOT physical and a drug test as prerequisites for admission.
