HOLISTIC CARE
SERVICES
Funding needed: $1 million
We aim to provide life-saving care to patients with
complex kidney disease, but many face significant
challenges such as long travel distances, language
and cultural barriers, as well as fatigue, comprehension,
and mobility issues. To address these challenges,
we will offer patient porter services to assist patients
with check-in and appointments, particularly for
those who arrive without a caregiver. With your
help, we can expand our holistic care services.
We are also seeking support to create an Indigenous
Healing Centre as part of our Hospital’s enhancement
of the front entryway. This Centre will offer a space
for patients to find a moment of respite before,
after, or in-between treatments and appointments.
It will promote physical, mental, and spiritual health
through traditional healing practices and ceremonies.
Additionally, the Centre will house administrative
offices that provide culturally-appropriate services
and care, creating a welcoming and safe starting
point for all hospital visitors.
While the Ministry of Health and St. Paul’s Hospital
have already committed to the revitalization of the
Hospital entryway, your support will help us bring
these enhanced holistic care services to life.
