STEP-BY-STEP SELECTION
Follow this four-step 昀氀owchart to order the perfect zipper for every boat project.
STEP 1: MOLDED TOOTH OR COIL CHAIN?
•
•
Molded Tooth: Dupont Delrin® plastic teeth molded to zipper tape. Practically
weatherproof; high UV and corrosion resistance.
Coil: Nylon teeth sewn to zipper tape with polyester thread. Flexible; takes
curves very well.
STEP 2: FINISHED OR CONTINUOUS ZIPPER?
•
•
Finished: Complete zipper install. Zipper chain, slider(s), stop(s), and sometimes starter box and pin preinstalled.
Continuous: Zipper chain only; sliders and stops not included. Cut chain to
needed length.
STEP 3: WHICH ZIPPER SIZE?
•
•
•
Size #5: For cushions, tote bags and more.
Size #10: For sail packs, boat covers, enclosures and more.
Size #12: For large marine projects and when a stronger zipper is needed.
STEP 4: WHICH SLIDER TYPE?
•
•
•
•
Locking: Slider stays in place unless tab is pulled.
Non-Locking: Slider will move if any part is pushed or pulled, or if zipper teeth
are pulled apart.
Single Pull: One pull on only one side. For projects accessed from one side.
Double Pull: Pulls on both sides. For projects accessed from either side.
