WHAT IS TEX?
Tex is the thread sizing system that
Sailrite uses. It’s also one of the most
consistent thread sizing systems between
manufacturers because it uses a 昀椀xed length
to measure a thread’s weight. Tex is the
weight (in grams) of 1,000 meters of thread.
In other words, 1,000 meters of thread that
weighs 1 gram equals 1 Tex. The higher the
Tex, the thicker the thread and vice versa.
