Construction
All A-Tempo cajons have several attributes in common. Every instrument, from beginner
to professional levels, is handmade in Peru, the birthplace of the cajon. Each cajon has a
sturdy frame made from solid wood panels. The panels are milled from carefully selected
lumber that has been dried to a precise moisture content and then joined together by
our high-quality dovetail technique. To create the much sought after A Tempo sound,
the drums are fronted with a proprietary multi-ply Tapa (playing surface) for a musical
tone that brings out deeper bass and crisper highs. The overall result is a high quality
musical instrument with a sound, look and feel that will make playing a joy.
