OUR PURPOSECaring in our CommunitiesBarry Kerkaert, DVMChairman of the BoardPIPESTONEAt PIPESTONE, our core values in昀氀uence our decisions every day. For me, thismeans showing care and commitment to not only our shareholders and clients, but to our communities as well. In 2023, we did this through various charityefforts. All charity efforts fall into one of three categories: kids, hunger, andcommunity.Meat the Need is our largest program and focuses on hunger throughout theMidwest. We are proud to have given the largest pork donation of the year toFeeding South Dakota, providing 78,000 pounds of Wholestone Farms porktenderloins. This pork 昀椀lled all the holiday boxes that Feeding South Dakotaorganizes, giving 26,000 families a holiday meal. For Feeding South Dakota, thisis the busiest year on record, and we are committed to Meating the Need, nomatter how large. We also prioritize children, locally and globally. In 2023, we worked withChildren’s Home Society and McCrossan Boys Ranch, both of which have an enormous local impactin helping children andfamilies. Globally, weworked with 昀椀ve differentorganizations whereefforts included cleanwater projects in Ethiopia, schools in India, and basicdental care in Haiti. I feelso blessed to live and haveraised children where Inever worried about theirbasic needs. I feel wecannot stress enough howimportant it is to give whatwe can to those withoutaccess to basic care.I am extremely proud ofthe good PIPESTONE doesand cannot wait to see howthat good grows in 2024and beyond.Barry KerkaertWINTER 2024 | 13
