— PILLARS OF IMPACT: PEACEFUL COMMUNITIES —
I would not be the person I am today if my parents did not make the
decision 13 years ago to let my older sister be part of a unique basketball
team in a small village in East Jerusalem, where I grew up . A single choice
started a butterfly effect that changed my life. I’ve been part of the program
so many years and through the program, I developed many things in my
character, and I got many opportunities.
PEACEPLAYERS HAS MADE ME AN ADVOCATE FOR
HUMANITY, AND FOR WOMEN TO BE EMPOWERED.
I am a coach, an athlete, and a leader today because my father and close
family chose to disregard the belief system they knew I was growing
up with and allowed me to do what I want. I will spread the lessons that
PeacePlayers has taught me to others through my actions and the way that
I treat people. I will try my best to be a ripple in a pond that I hope leads to
larger systemic change and a world where people truly see each other as
people.”
