DAY 4 LA GRANGE - HOUSTON
In Houston, we’ll visit the Texas Quilt Museum
where the brick interiors of a 19th-century
building display quilts from Texas and around
the world. Get your creative juices flowing
by browsing hundreds of bolts of fabric and
endless choices of yarns, nearby at The
Quilted Skein. After checking into our
downtown hotel, close to the festival venue,
we’ll get our first look at Houston’s muchanticipated International Quilt Festival on
Preview Night. B
DAY 5 HOUSTON
It’s the gala opening day of the Quilt
Festival’s dazzling displays of prize-winning
quilts. Hundreds of vendors’ booths await
with products from around the world: fabrics,
notions, antiques, books, ribbons, buttons,
wearable art, needlework supplies and more.
All this can be overwhelming, but our guides
are show experts who will give you insider
tips on how to see it all without wearing out!
Our hotel is so close that with your multiday
ticket you can come and go as you please,
taking classes and joining evening events. B
DAY 6 HOUSTON – OLD TOWN SPRING
Spark your creative talents anew in the
inspiring displays at the Quilt Festival, then
step away for a break in the historic turn-ofthe-century settlement of Old Town Spring,
exploring its Victorian-style restaurants and
quilt shops. Share memories and quilt talk at
tonight’s gala Farewell Dinner. B D
