DAY 1 ARRIVE CHARLESTON – TOUR BEGINS
Browse Charleston’s Old Marketplace on your own to find local crafts, and watch Gullah ladies weave
sweetgrass baskets as generations have before them. Meet your Tour Manager and traveling companions
at tonight’s Welcome Meeting.
DAY 2 CHARLESTON - SUMMERVILLE
After a hearty Southern breakfast, set out for the one-of-a-kind fields of America’s only tea plantation. Our tour of the
Charleston Tea Plantation teaches us firsthand how tea is made during a fascinating Field and Factory Tour. After
sampling teas, depart for Summerville, the “Birthplace of Sweet Tea,” to shop for fabrics at People Places & Quilts
where a 19th-century hardware store overflows with fabrics, patterns and kits. Savor Colonial and Victorian homes
with intricate wrought-iron fences on an evening carriage ride through Charleston’s gas-lit streets. B D
