DAY 3 MANCHESTER – CANTERBURY –
BURLINGTON
This morning, we travel to the peaceful hilltop
of Canterbury Shaker Village where time
seems to have stood still. We’ll tour their
Canterbury Shaker Village
simple dwellings and visit with craftspeople
who still produce Shaker products. After
our included box lunch, we’ll step from this
tranquil scene into the exciting colors of
Quilted Threads. You’ll be dazzled by the
quilts and by the endless fabric bolts, books
and needlework supplies. B
DAY 4 BURLINGTON
An unforgettable morning awaits us as
we drive through Vermont’s lush Green
Mountains, where the extraordinary
Shelburne Museum overlooks Lake
Champlain. Here, you’ll explore yesterday’s
New England in gardens and dozens of
vintage homes, barns and shops filled with
rare needlework, dolls and dollhouses, and
paintings by artists as diverse as Wyeth,
Monet and Grandma Moses. Then lose yourself in one of the country’s largest and finest
collections of early American quilts. You’ll
have time to stroll through lively downtown
Burlington before we enjoy this evening’s
farm-to-fork dinner at a local eatery. B D
DAY 5 WOODSTOCK
On our morning visit to the turn-of-thecentury village of Woodstock, Vermont,
we can browse at leisure in country stores
showcasing antique linens and laces,
quilts and local pottery. Choose one of the
cozy cafés or restaurants for lunch before
wending our way through the colorful New
England countryside to the Maine Coast. B
