DAY 3 KANSAS CITY – HAMILTON
Depart for Hamilton, a quilter’s dream-town
known as the “Disneyland of Quilting” and
home of Missouri Star Quilt Co. Visit the
Missouri Quilt Museum before shopping
at Batik Boutique, Kids & Baby and 10
other themed quilters’ shops in the heart of
downtown. After the private backstage
dinner, take your reserved seat for our
Trunk Show to learn the ABC’s of the
Missouri Star Quilt Co. and their easy and
fun approach to quilting. B D
DAY 4 HAMILTON – DES MOINES
Begin with an MSQ Warehouse Tour, then on
to Des Moines, via the Amish Country Store
and Bakery, filled with foods and
crafts made by local Amish families. Relax at a
wine-and-appetizers reception in our Des
Moines hotel, before dinner on your own. B
DAY 5 WINTERSET – LINCOLN
In Winterset, Iowa, visit Piece Works Quilt
Shop, the original shop of legendary
Marianne Fons and Liz Porter. Next door
at the Iowa Quilt Museum, you’ll have time
to admire the quilts in their ever changing
displays and exhibitions. After independent
shopping and lunch, a guide leads a tour of
the covered bridges that immortalized
Winterset in “The Bridges of Madison County”.
Arriving in Lincoln, Nebraska, there’s free
time for dinner and exploring the
Haymarket area. B
DAY 6 LINCOLN
At the International Quilt Study Center,
we’ve arranged a guided tour of the museum,
exhibitions, and preservation laboratory. After
free time to explore here – and an ice cream
stop – the afternoon is at leisure. There’s a
post oce run before we gather to share
memories and addresses with new friends at
the delicious Farewell Dinner. B D
DAY 7 LINCOLN – OMAHA – TOUR ENDS
On our way to Omaha Airport, visit Country
Sampler quilt shop and enjoy free time for
lunch and last-minute shopping in Omaha’s
Old Market area. B
