772 professionals
engaged in ongoing anti-racism
and accountability training in 2022
“I got to spend a lot of time
deconstructing and realizing
how much of my medical
practice and reference is
based off of white bodies
and how I can work to learn
past that.”
Led by Board President Sabia Wade, we have hosted
virtual learning spaces that encourage interaction,
push boundaries, and help people get comfortable
with discomfort.
We hosted national experts on equitable perinatal
care, including:
“I appreciate the emphasis on having these conversations, even though they are
difficult. That not having these conversations is perpetuating the problem and an
exercise of privilege to not engage.”
With our team and collaborators, we are developing the Seal of Perinatal
Equity so patients can choose providers who are taking actionable steps to
dismantle racism in their healthcare or birthwork practice
Led by Equity Lead Ayisha Elliott, we hosted monthly meetups
for birthworkers and perinatal professionals to support equity in
pregancy and postpartum care through ongoing accountability
