Extension
and mastery
Checkology includes extension activities and resources to support educators as
they guide their students toward extending and applying what they’ve learned
in the lessons. These include quizzes, challenges, exercises and supplemental
content as well as the Check Center and Newsroom to Classroom program.
The Check Center
This dynamic component of Checkology includes areas designed to build skills and habits
of mind that help students detect and debunk misinformation as they encounter it.
How it works
The Quick Check interactive
widget guides students through
a series of key questions and
steps customized for different
types of information.
The Toolbox contains
tips and tutorials that
teach students how to
e昀케ciently navigate digital
media and use tools to
debunk misinformation.
Veri昀椀cation Missions are engaging
fact-checking challenges that put
students’ skills to the test using
authentic examples of information
from social media and other
sources of online content.
Newsroom to Classroom
NLP’s Newsroom to Classroom
