UV SENSOR MODULE
The 254nm UV sensor module allows for a UV sensor upgrade to all NWTS 5.1 systems. All NWTS
5.1 systems come supplied with a built-in expand-ability port, simply remove the Teflon glow plug
from the port and affix the UV sensor module. Plug the sensor into the IEP (infinite expand-ability port)
on the controller and restart the system and your system will now monitor the UV intensity given off
by the system.

SOLENOID CONNECTION MODULE
Install a NORMALLY CLOSED line voltage solenoid valve (not supplied) and into this junction box.
Connect the power and the supplied lead to the controller. Please note that when this device is
connected to a 5.1 system without the UV Sensor Module, then the solenoid will close on a lamp
failure mode only. When used with the UV Sensor Module, the solenoid will close when the UV level
drops below 50%. Also note that in cases where emergency use of untreated water is required,
the module can be placed into a manual override mode allowing for the flow of water in an alarm
condition.

4-20mA CONNECTION MODULE
This device will allow for a 4-20mA signal transfer of the UV output to a remote device such as a data
logger or computer. Simply plug the supplied cable into the IEP port on the UV sensor module (or daisy
chain to any other module used in the system). Two screw terminals are supplied to connect the wire
that leads to the receiving end of the signal. As the distance required is unknown, no wire is supplied
with this system, however 16-22 AWG is required.

REMOTE ALARM MODULE
This integral control module allows for a remote connection on all BLACKCOMB products. This device
is a “dry (volt free) contact” allowing for the remote installation of alarms, lights, PLC input, data
logger, flow control, etc. Simply plug the supplied cable into the IEP (infinite expand-ability port) on the
controller (or daisy chain to any other module used in the system). Three screw terminals (NO, NC &
common) are supplied to connect the wire that leads to the receiving end of this dry contact. As the
distance required is unknown, no wire is supplied with this system, however 16-22 AWG is required.

TEMPERATURE MANAGEMENT (COOLING FAN)
The “LUMI-cool™” fan package is specifically designed to reduce the temperature of water passing
through the UV system. The package is engineered to a combination of mechanics and convection to
significantly reduce the water temperature. This fan package is specifically designed for use on the
NWTS UV disinfection systems.
The fan is powered independently from the UV system and is designed to run continuously. Its quiet,
long-life fan is powered by a compact modular power adapter with interchangeable AC clips that
operates from 90-264V (47-63Hz.)
