Filter sand and gravel are naturally- occurring, river-washed,
glacial deposit products. Their excellent chemical properties high in silica content and low in soluble calcium, manganese
and iron compound - meet AWWA-B100-89 specifications.
Precision sizing and uniform grading to close limits meet the
rigid specifications of professional engineers throughout the
United States, Canada and overseas.

The highly spherical shape of UNCRUSHED GRAVEL promotes
good flow and even distribution. Being low in soluble impurities,
it will maintain the quality of the treated water, especially in
softeners. Three inch layers are recommended in graded
support beds.

Sand filtration continues to make good sense: its cost-to-benefit ratio is very high, and effluent water
quality is often very good. Sand systems can filter to a 10 micron level, yet they are simple in design
and operation. River washed .44 to .55 mm sand with a high silica content, low impurities and a
highly sperical shape for municipal, industrial and residential filter applications.

Our filtration silica sand and gravel offer extremely high pure silica content (>99% SiO2). All gravels
are washed, dried and sized using PLC controls for consistency. All gravel verieties meet American
Water Works Association B100 Specifications for Granular Filter Media and are NSF certified for
Standard 61 – Drinking Water System Components & Materials.
