WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT
WORKING AT HOLLINGS?
I transferred to Hollings in the fall of 2021.
Prior to that I was a Critical Care ICU/
ECMO RN with MUSC.
I have a 12-year-old son named Xavi, and
my wife is a registered nurse working at the
hepatology department in the Main Hospital.
Right now, we don’t any have pets at home
but we are planning to adopt a dog in the
near future.
One of the most remarkable aspects of
working at Hollings is the culture. It is a place
where collaboration and teamwork thrive.

WORKING AT HOLLINGS?
I enjoy the patient and family interactions
and helping guide them through their care.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MEAL?
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS JOB?
Nursing offers a unique opportunity to help
patients and their families through a difficult
time. Nursing makes a difference in people's
lives every day. Being able to help is an
incredibly fulfilling job for me.
I grew up in Virginia Beach and moved to
Charleston to be closer to family.
I love my culture and food, so I would say
Filipino cuisine. One of my favorite Filipino
dishes is Lechon (a fully roasted pig with
perfectly crisp skin and juicy meat).

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE THING
TO DO IN CHARLESTON?
My husband and I have seven children —
four boys, three girls and three dogs!
Trying out local food and shopping,
of course!
I grew up in Taiyuan, China. I came to
Charleston as a research scholar with my
husband after getting my Ph.D. from Fudan
University in Shanghai.

TO DO IN CHARLESTON?

EVER BEEN ON?

I love to do anything outdoors, being on
the water, running with friends/family –
Charleston has so many incredible options.
The best trip I had was when I went to Hong
Kong with my family. I brought my parents
and siblings and toured the place for a
week. The highlight was when we went
to Disneyland.
I have a wonderful daughter who
is a junior in college at the
University of Chicago. She is the
captain of the women’s tennis team and
has been honored as an Athlete All-America
and an Academic All-America. She makes
me very proud.

I am an avid runner.
