CO2 SAFETY
CO2 safety is an important part of the beverage dispensing industry. That's why Micro Matic
is committed to the well-being and safety of every professional working in the food service
industry. Although education is key, CO2 safety requires businesses and employees taking
action to actually make a change. We believe this is more than just educating individuals, we
believe this is about saving lives.
Carbon dioxide leaks are bad news. It may seem that carbon dioxide is harmless—it’s in our
atmosphere around us and you haven’t noticed it, right? But, critical amounts of CO2 can be
extremely hazardous.
Handling CO2, especially in commercial environments requires attention to your safety as well
as other's. Doing so is your key to protecting yourself from liability and avoiding accidents or
worse: death. Protect your workers and protect yourself!
LOW LEVELS OF CO2 ARE HAZARDOUS:
2% CO2 LEVEL: Drowsy feeling
3% CO2 LEVEL: Blood pressure rises & hearing can be impaired
5% CO2 LEVEL: Breathing will become difcult resulting in feeling confused
OVER 5% CO2 LEVEL: Unconsciousness and possible death may occur
