MAKE YOUR MARK
WITH THE CIVIC SEASON
ZINE
By Cielo Munoz Perez & Ponce de Leon Tidwell III
What’s a zine, you ask? Zines are short for “magazines,” a small press or often
self-published works that have historically been created by those outside
the mainstream to share ideas and experiences. It’s a medium where you are able
to explore what is important to you! Whether it’s for a drawing, poem, collage,
or a new game you create, these pages provide the space to discover and
use your voice. Spark your creativity with these prompts, share your story to
the Civic Season digital zine, and then explore how others around the country
are making their voices heard.

Day in the life - Historical Edition (Transport yourself to
the past. Perhaps to a time with jazz clubs, bell bottoms, or
drive-through movies, what is your day consisting of?
What’s the fit? And can you relate to your historical self at all?)
If you could experience a specific historical event, which
would it be, why, and what actions would you take?
How important do you think it is to commemorate events
of the past? What is the best way of doing so?
