Your package design must be relevant
both on shelf and in advertising. Do not
ignore the opportunities available in television and
print advertising to feature your package. Package
design is most important on shelf to help your product stand out from the competition. You must also,
however, keep your advertising in mind when making
design decisions. Your package needs to be memorable in your advertising so that the consumer knows
what she should be looking for when she does visit
the store. If she cannot remember what your package
looks like from the advertising, she will have a more
difficult time finding it on shelf and might be more
likely to move on to other choices.
