Adding package elements that communicate benefits through touch. Once a consum-
er has made her way down to the version layer, there
are any number of design elements that will convince
her to make a purchase. Giving her the opportunity to
feel what the usage experience will be like certainly
creates a powerful impact. Package design is now highly involved in establishing the multi-sensorial benefits
offered by a product. Textured materials, peek-a-boo
cutouts, three-dimensional extensions and ergonomic
shapes all add value to the product through packaging.
The hand feel of your package is a benefit in and of itself, and is a valuable tool in selling at the version layer.
