2024 HFC Reconciliation Action Plan-LowRes - Flipbook - Page 3
A message from our
Haw琀栀orn FC President
Football clubs are in a unique position to drive
change, unite and educate everyone on the
power of reconciliation.
At Hawthorn Football Club, our commitment
is to continually listen, learn and ensure our
environment is one that is culturally safe for
all. This is how we create a club that delivers
positive social outcomes and creates and
environment that helps First Nations people
thrive.
We recognise that the journey to reconciliation
has many different paths, challenges and lessons
along the way, and our club is no different.
We know that understanding the past creates a
stronger pathway for the future.
Our vision is to ensure we learn from each of
every one of those steps along the way and that
each person that walks through our doors takes
us further on that path.
Our 2024-2026 Reconciliation Action Plan is a
key step for the club moving forward. It sets out
a clear, practical plan that makes sure Hawthorn
has a roadmap to reconciliation with the actions
we take as a football club. It also allows us to
acknowledge and honour the contribution and
impact First Nations people have on our club
and community, past, present and future.
Our success will always be marked against
how we show real progress. Our commitment is
make sure every effort possible is taken by our
club to drive reconciliation at every level of the
organisation and be leaders across the league
into the future.
