Purpose
The International Services Office (ISO) facilitates international educational
exchange through its services and programs. It serves as the primary
administrative, programming and advising office for the GW international
community. The ISO is the first stop for the GW international community and
will help eliminate administrative challenges when studying in the US.
Services
Advising: Expert advisors are here to answer students’ questions related to
their immigration status and to address any other concerns related to academic,
personal or cultural adjustment as an international student. Advising services
include one-on-one appointments with a student’s dedicated advisor, weekly
drop-in advising hours or support via email.
Events & Programming: The ISO is committed to enriching the student
life experience and hosts a wide variety of events each academic year.
Programming is intentionally built around four support areas: orientation and
adjustment, career and professional support, immigration support, and social
and cultural exchange.
Peer Support: The International Student Community Ambassadors (ISCAs)
supplement the acculturation, engagement and professional/career services
provided by the ISO and GW Center for Career Services. The ISCAs serve as
peer mentors, review resumes and cover letters, and organize professional
workshops and social events for all GW international students.
