knew about. My maternal grandmother passed
away in 2011, and regardless of our past, I loved
her DEARLY. Her husband passed away in 2013,
my father passed away in 2017, and I found my
mother deceased in 2018. Yes, HEAVY! My orst
grandchild was also born in 2018. I was happy yet
feeling all sorts of emotions, and my mind was all
over the place from not being able to fully grieve
and holding on to past trauma.
Since about 2020, the word RESET has been on
my mind and heart heavy and has been my word
of the year on more than one occasion. I was
forced out of my home in 2022, and just made a
decision of of emotions and thought I was doing
the right thing. That didn't end well, and I ended
up on my son's couch. How embarrassing was
that at 41 years old! At that point, I felt as though I
was cornered, and my back was against the wall!
I then went to my prayer closet, as I know, and
that's when a light bulb went of in my head and
said just "START OVER," and then here comes the
word RESET again! I got myself together in less
than two months! About two months later, here
comes the word RESET again, and I'm like GOD
what?! You know what! Your passion, desire, and
motivation to always help others; do something
with it, and that's when RESET was born in February 2023 with the mission to help other women
heal who have been through trauma by using my
own personal experiences and holistic approaches.
What motivated you to create a safe space speci昀椀cally for women to heal from traumatic experiences?
RESET was created as a safe space speciocally
for women to heal from traumatic experiences
because it's a MUST! We are the backbone of our
families and they need us. We owe it to ourselves
and them to allow ourselves to heal. I also know
that women have the desire to belong yet respectfully. Safe spaces also foster a sense of empowerment, sisterhood, and solidarity. By bringing to26 | God Works Magazine | May/June 2024
gether women who have faced trauma, RESET created a supportive community where women can
share their stories, validate each other's experiences, and ond strength in their journey of healing.
In your Reset calls, what are some of the most
common challenges or obstacles you help women work through?
Managing triggers and nashbacks, establishing
boundaries, regaining trust of others, and rebuilding their self-esteem and conodence
How do you approach developing personalized
strategies and action plans for each woman you
work with?
Developing personalized strategies and action
plans for each woman I work with involves a multifaceted approach. Firstly, establishing their trust
is crucial, as it allows for open and honest communication. Once trust is built, I conduct comprehensive assessments to understand each individual
woman's unique needs, ensuring they feel safe to
be 100% transparent with me. Through these assessments, I help the women identify their goals
and break them down into small, achievable steps.
Tailoring strategies to each woman's specioc situation is key, as a one-size-ots-all approach is inefective. I allow nexibility within my schedule to
provide regular review and assessment appointments, enabling me to monitor progress and make
adjustments as needed. Additionally, I provide a
wealth of resources to support their journeys.
Lastly, accountability is a vital component, as I
strongly believe in holding oneself accountable to
the personalized strategies and action plans we've
developed together. This comprehensive approach
ensures each woman receives the customized support she needs to navigate her unique healing process successfully.
