OUR COMMITMENT
TO QUALITY &
TRANSPARENCY
We are proud of our global Botanical Partnership Network, where over
200 ingredients are sourced from 37 different countries – equivalent
to approximately 1,019,053 pounds of herbs in 2019. We rely on these
partnerships to help achieve our mission of connecting people, plants,
and planet to create healing.
As a Certified B Corporation®, it is important for us to operate our
business with integrity and transparency. While we grow as many of
the herbs as we can on our Certified Organic farm in Brevard, NC, we
both in the United States and in other countries.
We believe in sourcing herbs from where they grow best. Cultivating
herbs on our farm is a start, but there are some herbs that thrive in
different environmental conditions around the globe than those that
we have in Western North Carolina.
Our Global Sourcing team works with our Farm Operations team
partners around the world to search for ingredients that meet our strict
standards of purity and potency, while prioritizing vendors who go
above and beyond required measures for sustainability, transparency,
regenerative practices, and produce Certified Organic raw material.
“Looking for organic raw material is not just about
our end user getting an organic product. It’s also
about reducing the amount of chemicals that
workers, the environment, the watershed, and the
soil is exposed to as well.”
- STEPHANIE KANE, Global Sourcing Specialist
Through Meet Your Herbs®, the world’s first herb traceability platform,
customers can enter the ID number located on the back of every Gaia
Herbs product to learn where each herbal ingredient came from, how
the herbs were grown, harvested and extracted, and the tests the
product underwent to validate its purity, integrity, and potency. These
reports also include the testing each ingredient underwent to verify
that it is free of harmful microbes, heavy metals, and pesticides.
