Key Settlements In EEOC-Initiated Litigation
The top ten settlements in EEOC-Initiated lawsuits totaled over $38 million in 2022.
1. $18 million – EEOC v. Activision Blizzard, Case No. 21-CV-7682 (N.D. Cal.
Mar. 30, 2022) (approval of consent decree in EEOC lawsuit alleging sexual
harassment and pregnancy discrimination).
2. $8 million – EEOC v. Circle K Stores Inc. (EEOC Nov. 29, 2022) (settlement
agreement reached following an EEOC investigation of alleged discrimination
against workers who were pregnant or had disabilities by not affording them
reasonable accommodations).
3. $5 million – EEOC v. American Freight Management Co., Case No. 19-CV273 (N.D. Ala. Feb. 2, 2022) (consent decree approved in an EEOC lawsuit
alleging failure to hire female employees to sales warehouse positions).
